Middle-Wyches WI by Susan leicester

Middle-Wyches WI welcomed five visitors to the September meeting at the Wych Centre. Following general notices and announcements the guest speaker, Lesley from Tesco in Middlewich, spoke about their various links with local schools to educate children about the origin of their food. Apparently rainbow fruit doesn’t actually exist, although some people think that it does. The local store has links with schools in Middlewich, Winsford and Sandbach and is being invited to travel further afield. Groups of children visit the store and go behind the scenes, no-one has, up to now, been locked in the large back-up freezer! Lesley spoke about their charity links and plans for the future. She also took along some welcome nibbles.

The WI is 100 years old this year, the actual ‘birthday’ was September 16. Middle-Wyches WI has put a small display in the library which includes their individual banner.

The October meeting will be group’s third birthday and they are planning to celebrate with friends and guests from surrounding WIs. The speaker for the evening is a hypnotherapist so members are looking forward to a relaxing evening. For more information please contact Susan leicester on 01606 837532
