Antrobus WI by Joy Corlett

Antrobus WI president, Sue Richards welcomed former president, Pam Gaskin who moved from the area in 1999. It was lovely to see her again and they hope that any former members visiting the area will also visit them.

The visit to the Salt Works had been most enjoyable and Margaret McDonald was thanked for organising it. There is a educational trip on October 28 to the Potteries Museum and Royal Doulton outlet shop in Stoke-on Trent. Please contact Janet on 01606 892182 for information.

Bowling Main was won by Kath Hankey with Tom Rushton, a members husband, second. Antrobus 2 bowling team are in the finals day for the County Shield.

Guest speaker for the meeting was magistrate, Kate Cawley. Kate told of some of the requirements, the most important are good communication skills and common sense. There is quite a lot of training given, but without it, it would be very difficult. She was thanked by Joyce Barber.

The lovely sweet peas on the president's table were from Annie Warburton's garden.
