LOWER Peover WI held its September meeting as usual on the first Wednesday of the month but the guest speaker was unable to attend due to a friend’s ill health, so another of her friends stepped in at the last minute.
Fay Kitching was remarkable, she demonstrated the cheese-making that her family have perfected over generations.
She was informative and shared her first hand knowledge of making unique organic cheese from cow, goat and sheep’s milk.
She had great presence, fantastic humour and her products were fabulous.
Members were delighted to have had such a good speaker as they celebrated the centenary of the WI with the lavish food and drinks that members had provided.
Members are planning their attendance at group meetings and also their Christmas meals.
The book club and walking group continue with enthusiasm.
Please visit the Heritage Centre in Knutsford to view the exhibition celebrating the first 100 years of the WI, we think you’ll enjoy it.
Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at 7.30 pm in Lower Peover School Hall, guests and friends are always welcome.
