NORTHWICH Probus Club had an entertaining morning at its recent meeting, when Catt Allen performed songs from stage and screen.
Catt said there was so much material to choose from she would need several hours rather than the 45 minutes to cover everything.
She explained how in the early musicals the songs did not form part of the plot, but have developed and now the music and songs are part of the story.
Members declined the offer to join in dancing with twirling umbrellas on Singin’ in the Rain.
Her programme included songs from the early days of musical films and theatre to modern shows.
Members are looking forward to a walk in the Lower Whitley area and lunch at The Hollow Tree.
The bowling section reported Peter Harrop and Chris Godber had won the McGuinness trophy and their next matches will be against Tarporley and Weaver Probus Clubs at Owley Wood There will be a trip on the Manchester Ship Canal on October 1.
Northwich Probus meets on alternate Monday mornings at Hartford Golf Club.
