Middle-Wyches WI by Kathryn Lavelle
The August meeting at Middle-Wyches WI was a summer party night with over 30 invited guests, including the Mayor, Ken Kingston and the Mayoress, Sue Johns.
They celebrated the lovely summer evening with a strawberry tea and quiz night. Members wore their 'best' posh frock which made a colourful background to the evening. There was a variety of homemade scones and strawberry shortbread, all topped off with jam and cream.
There were three different quizzes; one on capital cities, one on jumbled 'guess the celebrity faces' and one on events from the year 1915 which the year the WI was founded in the UK. There were no actual prizes but there was plenty of noise, discussion and laughter.
Meetings are held at the Wych Centre, Middlewich on the second Monday of each month. Please contact, President Susan leicester on 01606 837532 for more information,
