WINSFORD U3A members enjoyed warm weather for their day trip to Ormskirk and Southport and members turned out for the recent picnic lunch on the Marina island overlooking the Flashes and tucked into salad and sandwiches.

Preparations are well under way for the Open Day on Friday, August 28 which will take place from 10am to 3pm upstairs in Winsford library when the general public are invited to a showcase of all the U3A activities.

A new bridge group is due to start in the autumn.

On October 13, Mike Lyne from the Institute of advanced motorists, will give an talk on the 'Implication of driving for older people' followed by questions.

The meeting is open to all at the cost of £1.

Many of the groups now meet in the library and welcome/coffee mornings on the second and fourth Fridays of each month. Visitors are always welcome.

The next coffee morning is on Friday, July 24 in the Novel Bite Café, Winsford library.
