This month’s meeting opened with ‘Jerusalem’, accompanied by June Bingham. President Sue Richards, welcomed members.

Robin Martin was thanked for the flowers on the President’s table.

Sharon Batey reported on her visit to Buckingham Palace garden Party having had her name drawn out of the hat.

Sue Richards reported on the Annual Meeting at the Royal Albert Hall and the result of the Resolution Fete. Members agreed to walk in the procession as a jazz band. Offers were given for cakes etc for the stall and helpers.

Mounfield Shield will be on Saturday, June 13 at Great Budworth and Bowling Main at Comberbach on July 18. Tickets for this are available at £6 for bowlers and £5 for non bowlers.

November 18 is the celebratory service at Chester Cathedral. Send in your name if you would like to be in the choir.

With the help of Lisa, and his dog Megan, this month’s speaker spoke about the charity Canine Partners, which had been set up to help disabled people to be more independent with the help of a dog. It costs £10,000 to train a dog and only 80 are successfully trained each year.

He was thanked by Marcia Percival.

Ann Barlow and Enid Cheshire were thanked for organising the tea.

Best wishes were given to members entering competitive classes in the Cheshire show.

The meeting closed with the National Anthem.
