PRESIDENT Sue Richards welcomed members and friends to May’s meeting of Antrobus WI.

Winsome Deakin was welcomed back after recovering from illness.

Flowers from the group meeting were sent to Marcia Percival, who was delighted with them.

Meryl Phillips was thanked for making the banner and those who made bunting, which will be at Cheshire Show.

Jean Wilkinson was thanked for the president’s table flowers, which will be sent to an unwell Josie Reeman. Meryl and Sharon Batey, the tea hostesses and Hazel Rushton and Anita Chapman manning the trading table were also thanked.

Record of the April meeting was read, approved and signed as correct.

Margaret McDonald offered to organise the Members Night Evening.

WI Bowls Day at Lostock was won by Jean Wilkinson with Sue Richards runner-up.

June 20/21, Antrobus garden trail weekend Gawsworth Hall, July 8, £5 July 22, Bishop’s house, Abbey Square £5 July 21, Arley garden festival July 4, Antrobus Village Fete. Members will be in the procession and were asked to make cakes for the stall.

Resolutions for the annual meeting were discussed at length. The resolution was about the equality of care for the elderly and funding. Delegate, Sue Richards, would listen to the discussion, and abstain from voting.

Janet Featonby and June Bingham led a sing-a-long of wartime songs.

Robin Martin offered to provide flowers for the June meeting.

The meeting closed with the national anthem.
