THIRTY-SEVEN Ramblers joined the coach on a gloriously sunny morning for the trip south to Ashbourne on April 26.

The A group, led at the last minute by Judith Halman, alighted first at Waterhouses.

They went over the Weaver Hills to Stanton then through Mapleton to the Tissington Trail and through the tunnel to Ashbourne after 14 miles with 2000ft of ascent.

The other groups started in Ashbourne.

Chris Davies took the B group past Okeover Hall to the Limestone Way then down the River Dove to Mapleton and back to Ashbourne using the same route as the A group.

They walked 11 miles with 1500ft of climbing.

Penny Clarke took her C group on the Tissington trail then to Mapleton, Okeover Hall and Woodhouses returning via Mayfield after 9.5 miles with 1100ft of ascent.

The D group, led by David Eyes, took the Tissington Trail to Thorpe and returned down the River Dove after seven miles. The weather was perfect for walking, sunny and not too warm.
