WEDNESDAY’S game of Walking Football started with a quick goal by the All Colours 50-65s as the Reds 65-75s were not yet aware the game had kicked off and their goalkeeper was not able to close his legs quickly enough.
This was an improvement in his fitness levels, as three weeks ago he couldn’t open them.
A scintillating walk on the right wing brought a quick response, the ball was crossed to Steve (two stents), who executed a Cruyff turn, and with a knee-slide to the corner, brought the crowd to their feet.
The tackles were gentle, and soon Stuart fending off the attentions of the defender, slotted the ball into the corner.
The game ebbed and flowed like the tide, and at the same speed.
The game ended 5-5.
To still play the game and enjoy the mobility rewards, is something to be seen.
So bring your boots trainers or clogs, and join us every Wednesday 11am at Winnington Park.
