Darnhall and Wettenhall WI members have taken part in various social activities since their last meeting.
They were told of forthcoming group and county events including the Cheshire Show and the group meeting at Tarporley.
Guest speaker for the evening was Keith Vigurs who having retired from being a bank manager was head hunted and became a mystery shopper. He goes into supermarkets to check how assistants deal with members of the public looking for particular items, members who have been behind the scenes at Sainsbury’s could relate to this.
On a number of occasions he has sat at various railway stations waiting for his train to arrive, but he is actually checking whether or not they are running late. His wife also helps out occasionally, especially with the checking of restaurant meals.
Tea and cakes followed with time for a chat too look at the book stall. The winning numbers for the Darnhall village hall 200 club: 9; 50; 144 and 158.
