WARMINGHAM & DISTRICT WI Warmingham WI’s April meeting was one of celebration. To celebrate the centenary of the WI in the UK, and the 95th anniversary of the WI in Cheshire, members current and past gathered in the Village Hall in Warmingham. They were joined by members of other WIs and friends and neighbours.
There was a splendid display of the art and craft work produced by the members of Warmingham over the years, together with an opportunity to browse through the archive. To reflect the mood of 1915 and the starting of WIs the activities of the evening were drawn from those typical of the period and included parlour games, a table quiz and a sing song.
In between meetings the range of activities included regulars like the monthly walk and the book group. The darts and quiz teams reached this year’s finals and preparations are well under way for the Cheshire and Nantwich Shows.
Warmingham WI’s next meeting, Wednesday, May 6 when Willie Sarson will reveal The Power of Crystal. The meeting begins at 7.30pm and visitors are welcome.
The meetings are in Warmingham Village Hall at 7.30 pm on the first Wednesday of each month. For further details see www.warmingham.org.uk or 01606 737037 or email MMAHannon@aol.com
