PRESIDENT Bernadette O’Donnell welcomed members and visitors to the March meeting.

The bingo evening had raised £96 and Elsie was thanked for her hospitality. The WI bunting has been completed, thanks were given to Brenda Smith for all her help.

A trip to Gawsworth Hall is being arranged for Wednesday, July 8.

Names for the May fair stalls were taken.

Any prizes for the tombola and raffle will be gratefully received at the April meeting.

An appeal was made for double knit wool.

The guest speaker for the evening was Sue Ord who told members about The Secrets of Handwriting’ and how people’s personalities can be discovered through the way they write.

Examples of hand writing from Elvis Presley and Harold Shipmen were among some of the slides that were shown. Sue was thanked by Cath Smith Competition for an Easter card made by you: 1. Christine Kenny; 2. Elsie Evans; 3. Cath Smith. The raffle was won by Dorothy Harvey The draw for a member to attend the Queens garden party in June was won by Elaine Murphy.

The next meeting will be on April 1 with Tiger Muffin Soaps, the competition will be for a commemorative spoon; teas: Dorothy Harvey and Florence Grice.
