Comberbach WI President, Kath Dunn, welcomed everyone to the March meeting, including two guests. Members were encouraged to participate in the Cheshire Show on June 23 and 24 either by entering exhibits; helping to steward or support the catering area, which provides excellent refreshments throughout the two days of the show.

Members have also been busy contributing to the bunting which will be on display at the show as part of the centenary celebrations.

Kath wished the darts teams luck for the up and coming competition on 17th March.

The speaker for the evening was Julia Fenton who delighted members with a virtuoso demonstration on cake decoration using sugar paste. Julia gave tips on how to store and use sugar paste; tools of the trade, many of which are mundane kitchen items and gave ideas on how to indulge members artistic talents to the full.

Members will be taking “Tea at the Ritz” on April 2 to celebrate their 65th birthday. It will be a chance for everyone to dress up and enjoy a leisurely afternoon of convivial company.

The next meeting will be on Monday, April 13 at 7.30pm in Comberbach village hall, when Audrey and Harry Watson will entertain members with their talk on 'the trials of being a driving instructor'. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
