PRESIDENT Wendy Cadwallender gave a warm welcome to members at the recent meeting of Bostock and District WI.

Diary dates: March 11, walk starting from The Bull’s Head; March 18, 1.30pm, spring group meeting at Winsford E-Act Academy will feature a talk on being a bride at 60.

Guest speaker was the sales and marketing director of Delamere Dairy, Patrick Brunt with ‘the magic of goat’s milk’. Patrick has more than 25 years of experience in the food and drink industry. Delamere Dairy was founded in 1985 by Liz and Roger Sutton with a herd of three goats.

Demand is now so huge that farmers from around the country help with the production and supply of milk from goats on family-run farms. Many people choose goat’s milk over cow’s believing it to be healthier. It is an alternative for those intolerant to cow’s milk, and thought to be easier to digest.

Patrick brought samples of cheeses and milk for members to try. The samples tasted very good and not at all ‘goatey’.

Delamere Dairy based in Knutsford, has won approval to export milk to China and sell products to countries in the Far and Middle East and Asia. It is one of the latest companies to be named as an export champion by the UK Trade and Investment in the North West and is a huge success story.

The next meeting is March 31, new members and visitors welcome.
