Northwich Soroptimists held a minute’s silence at their January meeting, for the sufferers of recent atrocities. As an international organisation, clubs have been holding vigils for victims including the children and teachers in Peshawar, India, in Nigeria, and more recently in France.
Members are now organising a stand for Hearts of Northwich, and a fundraising evening for Water Aid.
At the December meeting a tombola was held at the Victorian Christmas Fair in Hartford, and raised £350 for See Solar, Cook Solar. In October £350 was raised towards supporting a Children’s Home in Goa, the money will be put towards the costs of education for the children.
