The speaker for the December meeting of Hartford WI cancelled, and at very short notice members were lucky enough to be entertained by local singer, Alex Clare, who sang “a few of his favourite songs”.

Everyone was encouraged to clap and sing along with Alex, and it proved to be a lovely start to the Christmas month. This was followed by a Christmas quiz.

Vale Royal Group Representative Tina Adshead informed everyone of the 2015 programme, which she hopes members will support through the year. The events were thought to be very interesting and entertaining.

Alison Hutton reminded members that the Scottish Country Dancing group had been running for 31 years, describing it as quite an achievement!

Resolution voting slips need to be completed and brought to the next meeting in January. They can be found in December’s edition of WI Life, and members were urged to fill them out as votes can make a difference.

Mavis Green ran a craft afternoon at the beginning of December, for those who wanted to make Suffolk Puff Christmas Tress. It was very enjoyable and everyone left with a very attractive decoration.

Future diary events include a visit to Roberts Bakery on January 21 and a trip to Anglesey on April 23.

The next meeting will be on January 7, 2015, when speaker Chris Smith will be talking about Cheshire Cheese. Visitors are welcome, please phone 01606 75520 for further information.
