The early signs of Christmas surfaced at the November meeting of Warmingham WI in the shape of the annual and arrangements for a Christmas lunch.

Once the essential business was completed members sat back and enjoyed what guest speaker Eric Newton had to say and play. Entertaining in every way, Eric punctuated his tales with the music he played on his clarinet.

His stories were drawn from his life experiences of becoming a musician and travelling the other side of the world, all interspersed with sharing his musical talent as a busker.

Christmas comes even closer in the December meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, December 3.

It is a special meeting, open to family and friends of members and to non-members. The special theme is 'Putting on the Ritz', and will be presented by Notty Hornblower, well known for her knowledge of museum costume and entertaining presentations.

Admission is by a free ticket which can be obtained by contacting a member of Warmingham WI.

The first meeting of 2015 takes place on Wednesday, January 7, at 7.30pm. It is a social evening and includes an opportunity to try that fascinating Olympic sport of Curling.

Meetings take place in Warmingham Village Hall (CW11 3QN) at 7.30 pm on the first Wednesday of each month. For further details see warmingham.org.uk or ring 01606 737037 or email MMAHannon@aol.com.
