An Evening with Dianne! This was the theme of the October meeting of Northwich Photographic Society.

What a photographic delight, especially when the Dianne is Dianne Owen FRPS, artist and photographer. Creativity is Dianne’s watchword and members marvelled at the images she had created to show. Creating images to “please you” as in “yourself”, is more important to Dianne than trying to please other people. She produces pieces of art using the camera and computer and her work is usually seen in prints, some of which she had brought along. The wonderful textures she creates in her images combine a range of impressive photographic knowledge, artistic vision and luxurious paper.

Many of the images have been taken and worked on in sets so that a technique can be tried, refined and finally mastered. Pictures are often available in both colour and mono to show how the emotion in the image can be brought forward with different treatment. One of Dianne’s passions is for still life images which are often initially created on the floor of her conservatory before being transformed on the computer. Her work and philosophies are displayed on her website www.dianneowen.info.

Visitors and potential members will be made welcome at the Society’s meetings which are held on Thursday evenings at the Castle Community Church (formerly the Methodist/United Reform Church), Beeston Street, Castle, Northwich, from 8pm until 10pm.
