Mid-Cheshire Camera Club held their first competition of the season at the Dingle Recreation Centre, Winsford.

Keith Barber from Swinton and District Photographic Society was guest judge to a packed house, which is testament as to how popular the competition evenings are.

From the outset it was obvious how difficult an evening it was going to be for Keith to choose between some very good images. The first part of the competition was the Print Section and both first and second places went to Ray Hill. In third place was Mark Clayton and in fourth Kath Hill.

It was celebrations in the Cain household when the results of the second part of the evening were announced. Jean Cain came first in the Beginners Projected Images and Jim Cain placed first in the Advanced.

The other results in the Projected Section in the Beginners part were, in second place Myra Harris, with Jean Cain in third and fourth places. In the Advanced Projected section Ray Girling came second and fourth, with Ray Hill in third place.

At the end of evening Keith remarked that it was one of the best competitions in terms of quality that he had judged. Chairman Ray Hill thanked him for his comments and for judging the competition.

This year’s programme will include more competitions, visiting lecturers and practical demonstrations. If you are not sure if the camera club is for you, the first three weeks will only cost £1.50 entrance with no obligation to join. Everyone is welcome at the club regardless of ability or equipment.

The Camera Club meets from September to May at 8pm on Wednesday evenings at the Dingle Recreation Centre, High Street, Winsford, CW7 2AS. Wheelchair access is available. Please visit www.midcheshirecameraclub.org and Facebook.
