Northwich & District Soroptimist International celebrated their 65th Charter Dinner at Willington Hall on September 27. President Louise Parry and members welcomed many guests including Councillor Alison Gerrard, the Mayor of Northwich, and Presidents from other Clubs. The Guest Speaker was District Judge Jane Brazier.
On Friday, October 17, Sir John Deanes College hosted an Anti-Slavery Exhibition. Northwich Soroptimists manned a stand to support this very worthy cause. Part of what they were asked to do during the day was to complete postcards to be sent to Mondelez, about the exploitation of its workers on cocoa farms. Information was also available on modern day slavery and trafficking from Purple Teardrop.
