Dave Cooper led his A group NE out of Grasmere to Easdale Tarn and then westwards to Coldale Tarn. The climb continued past Sergeant Man and on to High Raise. The return path took them eastwards along the ridge from Greenup Edge eventually descending into Grasmere via Calf Crag and the iconic Lion and Lamb rocks at Helm Crag to complete a glorious walk of 10 miles and 3000ft of ascent.

Jude Halman led her B group from Grasmere up to Easdale Tarn. They took a path around the tarn before heading NE towards Stythwaite Steps, turning south to Helm Crag before descending back to Grasmere having covered eight miles and 2200ft of ascent.

David Brunt started his C group walk at the Low Wood Hotel, south of Ambleside and made the short climb to High Skelghyll. From there they descended through Skelghyll Wood to Waterhead and on to Clappersgate where they picked up a minor road to Rothay Park.

At Scardale Bridge they joined the Coffin Route and continued to Rydal Hall then on to Rydal Water before descending on a path to Grasmere having completed 8.5 miles and 100ft of ascent.

Rosie McKenzie led her D group from Grasmere car park to Dove Cottage before joining the Coffin Route to Rydal. They crossed the main road to join a footpath that took them to the caves that lie below Loughrigg Fell and continuing back to Grasmere having covered six miles.

The sunny weather brought out the best of the Lake District with magnificent views on all walks and a few delicious Lakeland beers afterwards. Thanks to all the leaders.
