THE president welcomed the members to Winsford WI recent meeting.

Cheshire Federation of WIs had sent notice of the autumn meeting at the Lifestyle Centre in October, when the speaker will be Prue Leith, it is expected that demand for tickets will be high.

Vale Royal group news included the summer event visit to Chatsworth House and notice of the autumn meeting to be held at the Winsford Academy on October 15.

The resolution was discussed as it will be presented at the annual national meeting in June in Leeds.

The subject this year is organ donation; many people die each day through lack of organs being available.

The resolution urges all members to make a decision about donation and discuss it with family and friends so that their wishes can be respected after their death.

Much discussion took place and the vote was carried.

There was a display of members’ craft items; a group of talented ladies showed off their work.

They also enjoyed the ‘favourite recipes’ and cups of tea during social time.

The next meeting is on May 27 at St Luke’s coffee shop.

The next WI meeting is on June 9, at 7.15pm at Meadowbank Lodge, Grange Lane, Winsford, when a Puppy Walker from Guide Dogs for the Blind, will talk about the work and training that goes into preparing a puppy for a future as a guide dog.
