A PROPERTY lettings business has been named a top charity fundraiser for the fourth year in a row.

Ann, James and Steve Whalley own two Belvoir offices based on Castle Street in Northwich and Congleton.

They scooped the award as the Group’s Charity Champions after raising £2,781 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Belvoir’s annual awards are hotly contested by each of the company’s nationwide network of 160 offices.

Chairman and chief executive officer, Mike Goddard said: "Ann, James and Steve are the deserved winners of this award yet again, after hosting a highly successful sponsored golf tournament at the Vale Royal Abbey Golf Club, where the event has been held since they first introduced it into their events calendar.

“For the past four years they have been tireless in their efforts to help raise funds for this important charity and long may they continue to stage an event which draws tremendous support from their clients, friends – and the wider local community.”

Ann said: “The tournament grows every year and so does the total raised, which is fantastic as it is for a very worthwhile cause. We are very grateful for the help and support we get.

“Our colleague Richard Irving at the Belvoir Crewe office also chips in with raffle prizes and takes part in the tournament. It’s a really fun, family day which unites the entire team, plus our landlords and suppliers.”

The event which this year attracted 56 golfers, started with a breakfast followed by 18 holes of golf and concluded with dinner, the prize presentation ceremony and funds boosting auction and raffle.

Ann added: “The event has become our tribute to family members and others who have lost their fight against this awful disease and to recognise the tremendous work done by Macmillan Cancer Support”
