'H Factor' final is amost here

AFTER two gruelling heats and endless amounts of talent, the finalists for Cuddington’s answer to the X Factor will battle it out next Saturday, September 29.

Next weekend, The White Barn, in Forest Road, will host the final in which six acts will compete for the chance to win a £10,000 prize.

Saturday’s winner will go through to the regional heat, held in October, with the chance of scooping up the top prize of £10,000 in the national final.

The best singer from Saturday will also win a laptop donated by Surf and Fix IT.

The national winner in the contest, being run across the UK’s Hungry Horse dining pubs, will also win a day in a recording studio.

Sharon McDermott, who manages the White Barn with husband Kevin, said: “We’re really looking forward to the final on Saturday.

“We’ve had some really great contestants who’ve really stepped up their game throughout the two heats.

“We’d originally only planned to put four acts through to the final but we’ve actually ended up with six – four of which were from heat two.

“It would be great if one of our contestants went on to the win the £10,000 – maybe we’ll find the next One Direction.”

The Guardian has had its say in the winner, with chief reporter Gina Bebbington judging the two preliminary heats and new recruit Emma Rigby preparing to judge Cuddington final.

Reporter Emma Rigby said: “I’m really looking forward to seeing what kind of talent has been put through by the other judges – I’m expecting to be blown away by the sheer talent that’s on offer.

“I’ve heard there’s already a Simon Cowell character on the panel so I’ll try my best to be the nicer judge.

“Hopefully I can help Cuddington produce a serious contender for the £10,000 prize.”

The H Factor final starts at 9pm, with each act singing three songs – pop, ballad and one of their own choice.
