Graham Evans MP expenses for 2011/12 totalled £161,546.27

WEAVER Vale MP Graham Evan's parliamentary expenses for 2011/12 totalled £161,546.27.
This included £108,555.37 in payroll costs, £21,051.84 for accomodation, £14,158.55 for constituency office, £11,271.47 for travel and subsistence, £3,960 for staffing expenses, £1,510.75 for constituency rental anhd £1,038.29 for general admin.
A basic salary of £65,738.00 was also received by Mr Evans MP, with his senior secretary, Cheryl Evans, receiving a salary of between £20,000 and £24,999.
Graham Evans MP said: “I am very pleased that MP’s expenses are being published. It ensures transparency and is one of the important first steps in restoring faith in our politics.
“I have not claimed anything which is not necessary for doing my job of standing up for the people of Weaver Vale - I never will.”
Tatton MP George Osborne claimed £111,688.25, Middlewich MP Fiona Bruce claimed £133,597.27, Eddisbury MP Stephen O’Brien claimed £120,689.74, and Crewe and Nantwich MP Edward Timpson claimed £136,237.33.

I note that Mr Evans claimed amount of £161546 was £35994 (28.7%) more than the average of the other four MPs mentioned. How come?
Also, does anybody happen to know if the person named as 'senior secretary' is a relative and if the job was publicly advertised?
