Appeal to find brother missing for eight years
2:17pm Wednesday 12th September 2012 in News
Kerry Hartshorn is appealing for anyone who knows the whereabouts of her young brother, Michael
EIGHT years after he went missing, the distraught family of a young man are appealing to trace his whereabouts.
Michael Hartshorn, 29, went missing from his home in Castle eight years ago, but his big sister, Kerry, didn’t know until almost six years later.
“I was told that he had gone away on a job - it was only about two and a half, three years ago that I was told he was missing and not away on work,” said 31-year-old Kerry.
The mother-of-five, who lives in Barnton with her partner Graham Crouch, aged 30, has not heard from her brother since, despite numerous attempts to find him.
“We’ve set up a Facebook page in the hope that someone would recognise him and let us know he’s ok.
“A few people have contacted saying they’ve seen him, but all of the stories have had a dead end.
“Lots of people have said that he was working in a bar in town but obviously he isn’t there anymore.”
Kerry is now making an emotional plea to anyone who may know the whereabouts of her much-loved brother.
“I just want to know he’s ok,” said Kerry, “He’s my only brother.
Kerry describes Michael as being 5ft 10 with dark hair, and says he is a large tattoo of an eagle on his back.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “We would appeal to anyone who knows of Michael’s whereabouts or has seen him recently to contact us. We would also ask Michael Hartshorn to get in touch with us directly in order for us to let his family know he is safe and well.”
Anyone with information about Michael’s whereabouts can contact Northwich NPU on 101.
