Weaverham local to get £250,000 makeover

ONE of Weaverham’s local boozers is to get a £250,000 makeover as it becomes the latest venue to be taken over by the New Moon Pub Company.

The Hanging Gate, known for its warm, welcoming atmosphere, is the third venue to be taken over by David Mooney, co-owner and chef of Cheshire eatery Lord Binning, and business partner, Paul Newman, in the last 12 months.

Scheduled to open in December, the Hanging Gate will undergo a comprehensive interior refurbishment, with an investment of £250,000.

The new venue will create 20 jobs for local staff, including bar, kitchen and hosting work.

David Mooney says the pair plans to utilise the strengths of Cheshire produce to create innovative menus that reflect their passion for high-quality local ingredients.

“We are diligent about using premium quality produce and where possible, source products locally, as there are so many wonderful producers on our doorstep.”

Business partner Paul said: “We’re excited to bring our elite brand of informal fine dining to the Northwich area. We’re passionate about what we do and the experience that we are able to offer to all of our customers and we can’t wait to open the doors to the new Hanging Gate experience.”

The pair has also taken over the Old Sessions House in Knutsford, with plans for a fourth venture already underway.
