Pam reflects on the experience of a lifetime

THE Paralympic games are bringing back fond memories for a Moulton woman who helped make the Olympic games great.

Pam Ford, who works in the community education department of Mid Cheshire College, was one of the event’s lauded Games Makers at London 2012.

She said: “I had an amazing time as a Games Maker at the Olympics in London.

“The park was wonderful with gorgeous flowers, fantastic venues and a terrific atmosphere as everyone was there to have a good time and support the athletes.

“I worked with people from all corners of the country and abroad including Marco, a doctor from Florence, who wanted to be part of the games.

“I was responsible for helping people with walking difficulties, escorting them by wheelchair to their seats in the Aquatics Centre. “We all made sure the visitors had the best experience possible.

“One of the highlights for me was to see Tom Daley diving; I still can’t believe how many twists and turns they do before hitting the water!

“I was also in the centre when everyone was cheering Rebecca Adlington and Michael Phelps’ races, it was incredible; the noise nearly raised the roof!

“It was definitely the experience of a lifetime and one that I shall remember for a very long time.”
