FOUR days of fun are coming to Northwich this Bank Holiday weekend in what has been billed ‘the best value for money event in the Northwich social calendar’.

Moss Farm will host everything from an Elvis night and music festival to rugby tournaments, strongmen and donkey rides during Northwich Festival.

Even the Paralympic flame will put in an appearance.

Festival chairman Sam Naylor said: “It really is bigger and better than before this year.

“There’s something for everyone whether you’re young or old.

“The kind of entertainment we’re putting on will appeal to every walk of life.

“I’m looking forward to it, I just hope we get the weather.

“It is, without doubt, the best value for money event in the Northwich social calendar.”

The fun starts on Friday with a Cheshire Independent Living Awareness Day in the large marquee from 11am to 3.30pm, showcasing resources available to help disabled people live more independently.

There will also be a farmers’ roadshow, family fun and Mid Cheshire Society of Model Engineers will set up a model railway to give rides all weekend.

Friday night is Las Vegas Casino Party Night in the marquee from 7.30pm to midnight.

For a £10 ticket, guests can enjoy a hot pot supper, roulette, black jack and three card poker and music from Elvis impersonator Neil Vincent.

Saturday will see the large marquee transformed into a family fun arena while outside there will be senior and junior colts and womens rugby tournaments.

On Saturday night, Northwich band Beaver will play live in the marquee from 8pm to midnight.

The Paralympic flame will be one of the highlights on Sunday , with chance for visitors to have their picture taken with the flame and torchbearing athletes from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

Sunday will also see the UK Strongman North novice final as well as Northwich Music Festival Day One, with live music from local acts from noon until midnight.

Northwich Music Festival will continue on Bank Holiday Monday from noon to 5pm.

Monday will also feature a car boot sale and showcase of Northwich businesses and charities, as well as the UK North Strongman Final, donkey rides, fun fair, activities, the inaugral Northwich Guardian Soap Box Derby and a vintage vehicle display.
