Artist donates work to charity
3:20pm Thursday 16th August 2012 in News
A FUNDRAISING apprentice has caught the imagination of a top Italian artist who has donated a rare oil painting to a charity auction.
Hayley Griffiths, 19, has helped Northwich-based charity Deafness Support Network (DSN) attain the stunning artwork by Armando Farina, who himself has hearing loss.
Hayley said: “We really can’t thank Armando enough for his generous donation.
“It is fantastic that someone who has first hand experience of deafness has shown his support for those whose hearing has also been affected.
“These vital funds will go to help projects aimed at a whole cross-section of the deaf community in Cheshire and help build the network even further.”
Hayley is one of four apprentices at DSN who has been taken on to gain first hand experience of all elements of third sector working, from accounts to fundraising initiatives and events.
She is currently completing her NVQ3 in business and administration in the shared placement at both DSN and media agency de Winter.
The painting of yachts racing in a seascape will be auctioned at a fundraising event on September 6.
Potential bidders can go to DSN’s website dsnonline.co.uk to view the painting and pre-bid before it is auctioned in September.
