Help is at hand to help people stay independent
3:00pm Thursday 19th July 2012 in News
A NEW service to help people remain independent in their own homes has been launched in Winsford and Northwich.
The Assisting U service, set up by Weaver Vale Housing Trust, offers tailor made support for people who are either over the age of 55 or live with a disability.
The new scheme is an extension of the trust’s Handyman service and now offers help with general day-to-day jobs such as fridge and cupboard clear-outs, moving house, assembling flat pack furniture, or accompanying the person to places such as shops, supermarkets and garden centres.
Yvonne Banks, supporting people team leader for the trust, said: “We are very pleased to be able to roll this service out, not just to our own customers but to anyone else in the area that could also benefit from our help.”
