Shakespeare at Blakemere
2:20pm Wednesday 18th July 2012 in News
AUDIENCES will be transported from the Cheshire countryside to a magical fairy forest in an outdoor performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The classic Shakespeare play will be brought to life by Cheshire Actors Studio in the cobbled courtyard at Blakemere Craft Centre from July 25 to August 2.
Visitors will be able to bring along a picnic basket, a comfy cushion or camping chair and share in the romantic comedy of feuding fairies, mistaken love and identities.
This year celebrates the World Shakespeare Festival, the biggest celebration of Shakespeare ever staged with events across the UK through to November.
Richard Oliver, who founded Cheshire Actors Studio at Blakemere, said: “What better way to celebrate and join in the biggest celebration of Shakespeare in the world than to perform one of his best-loved comedies?
“Outdoor theatre is a completely different experience and the courtyard at Blakemere provides a perfect setting for an intimate performance – the audience will really feel like they are in the story with us.”
A Midsummer Night’s Dream will run from July 25 to Aug 2, at 7.30pm.
Tickets, priced £10, are available from studioboxoffice.moonfruit.com, by emailing tickets@cheshireactorsstudio.com or calling 07794231228.
