AIR cadets climbed mountains to raise more than £2,000 for charity.
A total of 25 Northwich Air Cadets and 10 staff trekked up Snowdon in aid of Help For Heroes.
Cadet NCO Cpl Jordan Byrne even did the climb dressed as a caveman in a bid to claim more sponsor money from his friends.
The record £2,086 total was helped by generous walkers on the day, who could not miss the group with their banners, t-shirts and wristbands, raising more than £200 on the day alone.
Flt Lt Roger Pinder, who organised the event said: “It was very rewarding to see so many enthusiastic young people giving up their free time for such a worthy cause.”
The squadon’s online sponsor page will remain open and anyone wishing to donate should visit bmycharity.com/146SnowdonClimb.
