THE role of Middlewich Vision will be put under the spotlight after a leading member of its team declined to renew her contract.

Town clerk Jonathan Williams confirmed that Julia Brumby had left her post as project coordinator for the group, which was set-up to shape the destiny of Middlewich, in March.

Julia was appointed to the vision team in November 2009 and more recently, played an instrumental role in securing a cash boost of £60,000 from the Home Office to help fund a youth shelter in Middlewich.

Mr Williams explained that Julia was employed on a one-year contract but chose not to accept the opportunity of an extension, offered by the council.

He confirmed that she had now found new employment, and said: “We are delighted for Julia and we wish her really well for the future.”

He added: “We will now take the opportunity to re-evaluate how Middlewich Vision is run, what its structure is, who is involved and the vision that we have to take it forward.

“Nothing has been decided yet, and although the vision is a community thing, the actual employer is the town council, so its up to the group and the town council to agree the way forward and a new approach.”

Mr Williams added that he would be taking on responsibility for Middlewich Vision in the interim period.
