A KINGSMEAD man who has teamed up with a Los Angeles studio to develop his debut feature film claims his desire to ‘make a difference’ is the secret to his success.

Film producer and entrepreneur Will Walters founded his company, The Wahie Group, aged just 17.

And five years later, the 22-year-old Liverpool John Moores University graduate’s CV boasts experience with Oscar-winning company Scott Rudin Productions and an internship with George Clooney’s Smoke House Pictures.

Will, who lives in Bickerton Way, said his most recent achievement was developing a British biopic set in the 1950s, which tells the tale of figures in British theatre ‘royalty’.

Talking of the film, which will cost $10million to produce, he said: “I get a lot of scripts sent to me, about 50 per week, and this one stood out as one of the best I have read in the past year.

“I picked it up and I loved it.

“I sent it around to a few of my contacts in LA and one of them said they thought it was a great script.

“They are now picking it through and starting to get A-list talent.

“My aim is to have it on screen next November, so it is quite a quick turn-around and there is a significance towards the reason why.

“It will definitely be released in the month of November, but that may not be next year.”

Will said he is currently juggling the production of his debut offering with the marketing services side of his business.

And the former Grange student said it was his drive and determination that got him where he is today.

“I think I just have this incessant drive to try to do things differently and do things better, whether that is story-telling or working to make things cheaper while still retaining the quality and giving people opportunities,” he added.

“I just want to do something different - I see something and I just want to do it better, that’s my drive.

“I want to make sure I make a difference.”
