Kids get crafty with old rubbish

SCHOOLCHILDREN in Northwich are being invited to prove that rubbish can be beautiful as part of a waterways art project.

The project is part of Northwich River Festival, which will be held in June to support the regeneration of the town’s waterfront and encourage visitors to make the most of the River Weaver.

Pupils, from Foundation age to Key Stage Two, are being challenged to use waste materials to create something of beauty with a waterways theme.

The entries, which can be sculpture or collage, will be displayed during the festival weekend.
