Carnival selection this weekend

NORTHWICH’S Carnival Queen and her retinue will be chosen on Saturday, at Northwich Memorial Hall.

Doors open at 1pm for a one-hour registration period, and the selection will begin at 2pm.

All entrants must live within the CW8 and CW9 areas of the town and be within the age groups on the day of selection.

The town’s carnival will be held at Verdin Park, on Saturday, July 7.

Categories for girls: •Carnival Queen and Ladies in Waiting - aged 13 to 15 •Empress and Maids of Honour - 11 and 12 years •Princess and Flower Girls - nine and 10 years •Rosebud and Petal Bearers - seven and eight years •Fairy Queen and Train Bearers - five and six years Categories for boys: •Crown, Sceptre and Sash bearers, Page Boys and Heralds - aged five and above •Fairies and Elves - four years.
