A TRANSSEXUAL who mounted a lengthy harassment campaign against her neighbours in Hartford has had the length of her restraining order increased.

Jan Krause, 47, was convicted of harassing Carol Story – who lived opposite her on Walnut Lane – in August 2010 after a series of incidents going back to May 2004.

Krause, who was born a male, had spent four years gathering evidence against Carol Story and her family in order to back a complaint to the council about a alleged noisy central heating system.

The family was also subject to endless complaints over parking and, on one occasion, Krause called armed police to a late night party.

At the original hearing, Krause escaped a jail term but received a 12-week sentence suspended for 18 months, 120 hours of community service, an 18-week curfew and a four-year restraining order.

However after an appeal against conviction and sentence at Chester Crown Court, that lasted three days, Krause failed to clear her conviction and had her four year restraining order increased to 10 years.

She has already completed her community service order and the curfew has expired. The suspended sentence was removed.
