EXPLORATIONS of the world below a Delamere hill are continuing.
A team of archaeologists and volunteers have been uncovering the iron age hillfort at Eddisbury Hill.
They were due to spend a four weeks reopening trenches that were dug in the 1930s but have extended their dig to discover more about the entrance to the fort and its true size.
The dig is part of a Habitats and Hillforts project to conserve and enhance the string of six historically important Iron Age hillforts along the sandstone ridge.
