Youngsters asked to come and play

5:30pm Wednesday 28th July 2010

Connexions, Cheshire & Warrington Limited, is again taking part in the successful play days events run by Cheshire West and Chester Council.

The events take place on a number of days in August across Cheshire West and Chester.

They encourage children and young people to take part in risky play.

The free activities include climbing walls, bungee trampolines, bush craft, slime pools, ultimate frisbee and arts and crafts.

There is something for toddlers through to teenagers.

Connexions is also running the ‘my town, my job’ project, which has recently been delivered in primary schools with the aid of funding from Aimhigher.

Youngsters can help build a town out of cardboard and paper, ensuring all the buildings young people think are important are created.

Jan Jones from Connexions said: “The project has proved very popular with young people in local primary schools and it will be great to see how the towns grown during the events.”

Diary of days – Tuesday, August 3, Whalley Road Playing field (Chinkers Field), Northwich; Wednesday, August 4, Winsford Lifestyle Centre, Winsford; Thursday, August 5, Castle Park, Off Fountain Lane, Frodsham.
