POLICE are appealling for information after a woman was mugged on the Over St John's estate.

The 51-year-old was walking alone in Mount Pleasant Drive near Cotswold Way at around 9.30pm on Wednesday, March 17 when she was approached from behind by a man.

He grabbed her handbag – which containing a small amount of cash and personal items – and ran off. The victim was not hurt.

He is described as white, about 5ft 8 with short blonde hair and was wearinf a a grey tracksuit.

Det Sgt Ian Morgan, who is overseeing the investigation, said: "This was a cowardly unprovoked attack on a deaf woman. We appeal to anyone in the local community who may have information regarding who may be responsible for this attack, or who may have witnessed anyone fitting the description in the area at the time, to contact Northwich CID on 0845 458 0000."
