A 17-YEAR-OLD Sir John Deane's student was killed on Wednesday night in a car crash.
Alice Worthington died when the blue Mini One she was travelling in with her friends came off the A54 near Gresty's Waste at 9.20pm last night.
The car overturned and landed in woodland. The driver, an 18-year-old local girl, and the other two female passengers, aged 17 and 18, escaped with minor injuries.
Three ambulances sped to the scene and the girl suffered a cardiac arrest. All four were taken to the Countess of Chester hospital where the girl was pronounced dead.
Cheshire Police are appealling for witnesses to the one-vehicle crash. Anyone with information is urged to call Sgt Rachel Gallagher on 01244 613163.
