Rudheath family celebrates five generations of girl power

A FAMILY from Rudheath is celebrating five generations of girl power for the second time in 20 years.

The arrival of baby Macie-Louise, on Christmas Eve, completed the set of five, which includes mum Samantha Dean, grandmother Tracy Wells, great-grandmother Sandra Wells and great-great-grandmother Kathleen Rowbottom.

Samantha, 20, of Brook Lane, said she was a fifth generation girl in the family when she was born.

“I was the fifth generation of girls in the family 20 years ago and now we’ve done it again,” she said.

“It’s the fifth generation providing a fifth generation, which is really rare.”

Macie’s birth was a special moment for Samantha’s grandmother, Kathleen.

Samantha said: “Gran was very very excited when she found out it was a girl because it meant she would have her fifth generation.

“This is really special for her.”
