Time to pick new Northwich Carnival Queen


THE selection of Northwich Carnival Queen and retinue will take place on Saturday, February 13.

The roles of carnival queen and ladies-in-waiting are open to girls aged 13 to 15, empress and maids-of-honour for 11 and 12-years-olds; princess and flower girls to nine and 10-year-olds; rosebud and petal bearers to seven and eight-year-olds and those aged between four and six can enter to be the fairy queen, train bearers and fairies.

Boys aged five and above can enter to be the crown, sceptre, sash bearers, page boys and heralds.

Registration for entry is at the RAOB Club, in Witton Street, starting at 1pm, with books closing at 2pm so the judges can make their selection.

Entrants must be within the age groups on the day of selection and must live within the boundaries of the CW8 and CW9 postcode areas of the town.
