THREE youths have been arrested after a warrant was executed at three homes in Northwich.
Officers from Northwich Neighbourhood Policing Unit and Cheshire Constabulary’s specialist unit, Vector carried out the warrants at Greenway Road, Rudheath and Laburnum Road, Rudheath at 1pm on Thursday, July 2.
The warrants were part of an operation to tackle the issue of motorcycles and mopeds being ridden in an anti-social way.
Two off-road mini-motos and several moped and motorcycle parts were seized during the operation.
Three local youths, a 22-year-old, a 15-year-old and a 14-year-old were all arrested on suspicion of theft of motorcycles. They were later released on police bail.
Later the same day, PCSOs spotted another youth using a mini-moto off Walnut Avenue, Weaverham. The Cheshire Constabulary plane flew over the scene and officers have now been able to identify the rider.
Three local youths have since been issued with section 59 notices, warning them their bikes will be confiscated if they are seen riding them in an anti-social way again.
Sgt Sharon Lomas, from Northwich Neighbourhood Policing Unit, said: “We take vehicle crime like this very seriously and will continue to target those people who use these bikes illegally or in an anti-social way. We would welcome any information from residents about the riders and where they ride.”
