BOSTOCK Village Fete is to be resurrected after more than 55 years.

Residents of the village have joined forces to bring back the event on Saturday, July 18.

A dog show, children’s fancy dress competition, old-fashioned side shows, white elephant stalls and tea and cakes with the WI are all on the bill for the free afternoon.

A spokesman for the Fete Committee said: “The village green is so beautiful and it’s unused so a few like minds got together and decided we would have a go at bringing it back.

“It used to be a really big affair, we’ve seen photos with hundreds of people on. We’re not aiming to bring it back that big, we just want to put on a fun and friendly afternoon.”

The committee is hoping to hear from historians or past residents who have any photographs, history or memories of the old fete which can be displayed on the day.
