BIGGER steps are being taken to give Kingsmead its own identity.
The estate, currently split between Northwich and Davenham, looks set to become a parish in its own right after residents revealed they wanted to take control.
Vale Royal Borough Council held a consultation earlier this year in which the majority of the 1,500 people who responded said they wanted a new parish council based on the Kingsmead development.
A further consultation will start next month to give residents chance to comment on the creation of a new parish, the boundary, the council name and the number of councillors to represent the area.
Clr Val Godfrey, lead councillor for engaging communities, said: “We have listened to people in the parishes of Davenham and Northwich and this action will hopefully create a parish that will help the community to grow stronger.”
Officers are currently drawing up a new consultation, which is expected to appear on the council’s website valeroyal.gov.uk by mid-December and should run until mid-February.
