HUNDREDS of our readers have joined our petition for new safety measures on Manchester Road.
Later this month MP and shadow chancellor George Osborne will be presenting the list of signatures to the House of Commons so we are giving readers one last chance to back our campaign.
Following two tragic deaths and many injuries on the road in the past year, the Guardian has decided something needs to be done and is calling for: A crossing near Bargain Booze and the play area to help children cross safely, Increased police patrols and enforcement to make sure drivers stick to the 30mph limit, More 30mph signs, traffic calming measures such as speed bumps, Improved parking in and around Manchester Road.
