READERS are being offered two different ways to pay tribute to James Gregory, the four year old boy who died after a road accident.
A book of condolance has been opened at Comberbach Primary School, where James would have started school in September.
And readers can also leave their tributes to the Little Leigh Pre-school pupil and messages for his family on this website, by clicking comment.
Comberbach Primary School headteacher Janet Groom said: “Everyone at the school is shocked and saddened by James’s tragic death.
“We were looking forward to him joining us as a pupil in September.
“He had already made three visits to the school and got on very well with everyone here.
“The whole school family will rally round and do everything in its power to support his sister Millie when she returns later this week.”
Janet and Mark Whalley, friends of the family, said: “We're sure that words cannot express how Andy, Emma and the rest of the Gregory family must be feeling at their tragic loss of James, but we hope it helps them to know that our thoughts and prayers are with them at this very sad time.
“James was a wonderful little boy and we know he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.”
Comberbach Rose Fete went ahead despite the incident as that was what the children wanted. The parade took place in silence as a mark of respect.
Police are appealing for witnesses to ring the specialist investigation unit on 01244 614270.
A memorial service will be held at Knutsford Unitarian Chapel at 2.30pm on July 8, followed by committal at Altrincham Cremotorium, and the family have asked anyone who attends not to wear black.
